Meet Gregory David Roberts – author, musician, actor, film producer, public speaker and
philanthropist. An artistically talented, philosophical thinker, reader and writer, Greg is the author of the acclaimed novel Shantaram and, a convicted criminal.
Sentenced to 19 years for armed robbery, Greg escaped from Pentridge after two and half years in prison and his life on the run, in Asia and Europe, saw him enmeshed in communities and cultures while on Australia’s Most Wanted list.
Greg eventually served his time back in Australia and his life journey is inspiring; encapsulating the spirit of the individual to find freedom, survive and flourish.
This exhibition is curated with Gregory David Roberts, who is sharing his personal story and life philosophy. Explore this fascinating journey through audio, film and costume and immerse yourself in the escape to Shantaram.
